Who is Advisor Financial?

Advisor Financial Services is a fee-only independent financial services company founded in 1998 and registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, as amended.

We provide investment account management services for private clients, and we also support and advise small to medium businesses on retirement benefit solutions. For larger companies, we offer employee-direct retirement services, where we work with individual plan participants/employees to offer specific investment advice tailored to their company’s retirement plan, i.e.: 401k, 401a, 403b and profit sharing plans.

Our office is located in Woodstock, Georgia.

What can Advisor Financial do for me?

If you have an employer sponsored retirement savings account, such as a 401(k), Advisor Financial can manage it for you. We have other programs which offer competitive management fees for your traditional IRA, Roth IRA, DC Plan, taxable brokerage account, SEP, or trust account. If you own a small business, Advisor Financial can set up a 401k for you and your employees.

Who is your typical client?

There is no such thing as a typical client for us. Each is a unique individual with particular needs and goals. Our clients are both working and retired folks who want the security of having a professional investment advisor helping them with their investments.

Is professional money management better than doing it yourself?

There are no guarantees, however, you can learn to perform heart surgery, or you can hire a professional to do it. The same can be said about your investments. You can spend years learning money management or have a professional manage it for you. So you have to ask yourself: Can I do better than a professional? Based on a study of Nebraska state employees over a thirty year period, those who managed their own retirement accounts earned 6%-7% annually, while professional pension fund managers earned 10%-11.5%.

Regarding my 401(k), does your firm actually make the changes in my account?

Yes, we offer fully managed account services, even for your 401(k) account.

How frequently do you make changes to your clients' accounts?

We make changes to our portfolios on an “as needed” basis. We monitor the investments and the markets on a daily basis. But because our investment philosophy is centered around strategic economic issues and not what the market has done in the past week, month or even quarter, we typically make changes once or twice a year.

Does Advisor Financial try to time the market?

No, we stay invested through the highs and lows of the market. No one can consistently predict short term market fluctuations. We are confident that our clients will be well rewarded by investing for the long term. Our investment philosophy is best categorized as strategic asset allocation modeling. We believe that careful consideration of downside risk is an integral part of portfolio construction. We also believe that monitoring and controlling portfolio expenses, i.e. expense ratios, transaction fees, etc. will ultimately result in a better bottom line for our clients.

How often do you rebalance?

We typically rebalance annually to bring your portfolio back into line with the target asset allocation model. We keep you informed when we make changes in your account.

If I use Advisor Financial to manage my 401(k) account, is the account transferred away from my plan's custodian?

No, your account remains where it is. We act as an independent third party to manage it on your behalf. For example, if Fidelity is your plan custodian, you still have access to your account through their NetBenefits website and you continue to receive account statements from Fidelity.
